What is Kids Web Services (KWS)?

KWS provides industry-leading parent verification, age verification, and consent management services. Our technology provides the tools to deliver great online experiences for young audiences, including games, educational platforms, and social communities.

What is Parent Verification?

If a user indicates they are under the age of digital consent in their country, privacy laws may require a parent to provide permission for them to access games or services that collect personal information.

Parent Verification enables games or other digital experiences to confirm that someone identified as a parent is an adult, so they can provide parental consent for their child.

KWS’ Parent Verification service has been designed to minimize the use of personal data needed to confirm a person’s age, and to make it easier for parents to verify their age when providing parental consent. Once verified as an adult using KWS Parent Verification, you will be added to our AgeGraph—our global network of pre-verified users—and retain your verified status across all digital experiences using KWS.

Some of the most popular games and digital experiences, such as Among Us, Fortnite, and social media platform Bluesky, use KWS.

What is Age Verification?

Depending on the game or service you’re using, you may need to verify your age before you can access certain features or age-restricted content that may not be appropriate for younger audiences.

Our Age Verification service, in concert with the AgeGraph, enables our partners to verify your age within seconds.

Your privacy is protected

KWS stores minimal data needed to remember your verified status.

We store a scrambled (hashed) version of your email and basic verification details (such as the date and method used) in our AgeGraph.
This enables you to verify once and avoid repeating the process for other games or services that use KWS.

The personal information used to confirm your age is not stored by KWS.

We do not store payment card numbers, government ID numbers, ID documents, photos, or face scans.
This information is only used to confirm your age and is deleted after verification.

To further demonstrate our commitment to child safety, KWS’ consolidated Parent Consent Management and Parent Verification solution has been certified as compliant with COPPA by two FTC-approved COPPA Safe Harbor Programs: the Entertainment Software Rating Board’s (ESRB’s) Privacy Certified Program and the kidSAFE Seal Program.
